Robert Corbett, Esq.

Rob Corbett joined the NYPD in 1997 as a police officer and retired after 25 years in 2022 as a lieutenant special assignment. He worked in a variety of assignments, including the 20th and 28th precincts, Criminal Justice Bureau, Office of the Chief of Department, Police Commissioner’s Office, and the Legal Bureau. He responded to the 9/11 terror attacks and later worked closely on the operational plan for the trials of the terrorists who planned the attacks. In 2009, he received his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School and became a member of the New York Bar in 2010. His last assignment was as commanding officer of the Police Action Litigation Section, where he assisted the City of New York in the defense of police action-related lawsuits. He also prosecuted forfeiture and nuisance abatement actions, and defended Freedom of Information Law cases.

Lieutenant Corbett was the co-founder and inaugural president of the NYPD chapter of the Brotherhood for the Fallen, a charity that helps the families of fallen officers around the nation.

Rob is now a police officer with the Clermont Police Department in central Florida and anticipates taking the Florida bar exam in the near future.
