Law Enforcement Officers Weekend

This is a must read. Whomever writes their posts, and to the supervisors that allow it, all of law enforcement thanks you! 😂It's Missed Connections Monday!

It was a warm April evening. You drove a tan Ford Explorer. I was wearing my favorite blue polyester suit. Neither of us knew it at that particular moment, but fate or poor driving would soon bring us to meet for the first and last time. Blowing through a stop sign and not using your turn signal gave me a great excuse to strike up a conversation. The perfect icebreaker.

I worked up the courage to approach your car and introduce myself. You told me your name was Crystal A. Steiner (now 31 years young). Imagine my disappointment to learn your driving privileges were suspended and you had a bench warrant for failure to appear in court for a hit and run (bummer). I wanted to give you a second chance at a first impression so you were released on bail like a butterfly into a gentle spring breeze. We agreed we would meet again in the month of June at the Keene Circuit Court. But, alas, it was not meant to be.

June came and went in a flash! It was clear to me now you had no intention of returning and honoring your promise to society. I was heartbroken. I felt betrayed. Another warrant was issued for your arrest but not even the rule of law could persuade you to return. You set sail and put our little town of Marlborough behind you. The days have passed one by one, and I am sure you have forgotten all about us by now. I want you to know we haven't forgotten you Crystal. We are still here waiting. I know you are a good person at heart, but skipping court gives off the wrong impression. Let's fix that together.

I heard you may have moved out of state and I hope you are doing well. If you are out there and feeling a little New England nostalgia, please call me at the station. I know it's a long shot but I would love to catch up.

If you're reading this and aren't my missed connection, you can still help me get this old warrant off my desk. Hit "Share" and be part of something big. Do it for Crystal's conscience. Do it for justice. Do it to get me that much closer to the deluxe Cuisinart Four-Slice Toaster Oven I'm only three arrests away from winning. It's stainless steel people.
